The High Pressure Nitrogen Backpack Kit

Overview

The Nitrogen Backpack Kit (NBK-4) is a lightweight, high pressure nitrogen backpack service kit that provides a more efficient method of servicing rotary or fixed wing aircraft and other equipment requiring nitrogen gas servicing. The nitrogen cylinders are the quick disconnect version of same high pressure cylinders used with the CvI Nitrogen Backpack Service System (NBSS) and Nitrogen Deployment Sustainment Kit (NDSK).

The backpack is ideal for delivering a gas cylinder for high pressure nitrogen service. The cylinders are easily filled using the Containment Fill Kit (CFK-1) with a supplied source of high pressure nitrogen gas from a Mobile Nitrogen Generator (MNG), Stationary Nitrogen Generator (SNG), Generic Aircraft Nitrogen Generator (GANG), or directly in the CvI nitrogen generating Mobile Air/Nitrogen Charging System (MANCS).

• High Pressure Service Kit 
• Aluminum cylinder housing two high pressure gauge displays - Supply Pressure and Fill Pressure, that are controlled and set by the Pressure Regulator. 
• High pressure hose attached to the inlet side of the enclosure includes a high pressure quick disconnect coupling that connects to a quick disconnect coupling on the cylinder. 
• High pressure service hose that terminates with a high pressure service chuck for high pressure servicing.
• Externally attached check valve and combination shut-off/bleed feature for bleeding pressure from the entire system.
• Cylinder Assembly     
• Lightweight aluminum cylinder with carbon fiber wrap and epoxy coating. D.O.T. approved and in service with many CvI Mobile Air/Nitrogen Charging Systems (MANCS).
• High pressure service shut-off valve, burst disc, and pressure gauge; valve is fitted with a quick disconnect coupling for service attachment.
• Backpack Harness Assembly
• Lightweight harness assembly.
• Adjustable waist belt fits both the high pressure and low pressure service kits.

• CGA-680 to QD Adapter  
• The CGA-680 hand tight nut to quick disconnect adapter enables earlier NBK cylinders (Part Number 410580) fitted with a CGA-680 coupling to be used with NBK-4. 
• QD to CGA-680 Adapter  
• The quick disconnect coupling to CGA-680 adapter enables the NBK cylinder (Part Number 410780) to connect to earlier CGA-680 components. 
• Cylinder Sleeve 
• A cylinder sleeve, designed to aid in basic protection for the high pressure cylinder. Caution: High pressure cylinders must be handled with extreme care at all times.
